Why Dive the Similan Islands?
Liveaboards in Thailand are one of the best ways to explore the Andaman Sea, and the Similan Islands are one of the top ten scuba diving and snorkeling destinations in the world. Comprising the nine islands that make up the Similan archipelago plus the outlying islands of Koh Bon and Koh Tachai, the Similan and Surin Islands National Park also includes dive sites around the five islands in the Surin chain. Across this area, you’ll find some of the best diving in Thailand.
Each island and dive site has something for every interest and ability. The diversity of the underwater world in this region attracts scuba diving visitors from all over the globe. New divers will enjoy the calm, sandy bays and excellent visibility, while more experienced divers and underwater photography enthusiasts will love the variety in topography and the extensive macro marine life.
Shallow tropical coral reefs, soaring pinnacles, and massive coral gardens form a breeding ground for multiple fish species and Hawksbill turtles. Wall dives and ridges play host to passing schools of manta rays, and those interested in shark diving have the opportunity to spot several species.
Richelieu Rock is the standout dive site of our Similan Islands liveaboard itinerary. A collection of pinnacles forming a crescent just north of the Surin islands, Richelieu Rock is worth several dives as it's far too big to see everything in just one or two. Underwater attractions range from the very big to the very small, with unlimited macro and the chance to see the largest fish in the sea, the whale shark, which is a common sight here.

Had an absolute blast on the Deep Andaman Queen on a trip to Burma. Steve and the crew run a tight ship and the captain is very skilled at getting you to the right drop site for your dives. Not only one of the best diving experiences of my life but one of the greatest adventures so far.

Perfect organization, good rooms and excellent crew: they'll do anything they can to help. It was my first time on a liveboard and I had a really good time; hopefully I will be on the boat again next year!

The excellent crew, dive guides and food more than make up for some of the pre arrival experiences and uncomfy beds. Some Crew, are forced to sleep on sun deck which limits use at night. Great trip though!

My first Liveaboard was extraordinary with Steve and his incredible crew! This was also my very first trip to Thailand, although my week was spent on the boat, I couldnt have had a better time! When we boarded the boat on Day 1, Steve, head hancho (rightfully so) welcomes us with a much appreciated briefing. During the briefing we met each other, we were all very diverse and from all around the world. We also met the crew (Rockstars of the boat)! Steve then set us up for the week and talked us through every detail you can think of, idk how he remembers all this! He was so comprehensive, thorough and entertaining. Not only did Steve help to set our expectations, the entire week he helped us have fun, keep safe and make the very most from our trip. I’m also his biggest fan bc he was diligent about helping me get my regulators back after I left them on the minibus after the trip. This was 100% my fault, but immediately after I contacted him worried sick, he had located them for me by the time I boarded my plane home. 🙌🏻

We had 6 days 4 nights liveaboard cruise at Similan and Surin Island on New Year's Eve. Steve and the staff organized a party with presents for everyone and fireworks. Everything was very well organized onboard and the staff were very efficient and pleasant, always willing to help. Lot of food after every dive (4 dives a day) and free drinks and snacks at all times. The cabin was small but comfortable with hot water and air conditioning. Steve gave us very detailed briefings to make sure that we could dive safely and comfortably. All diving equipments are in good shape. Great divings especially around Richelieu Rock where we got to see the whale shark and much more!

Amazing first liveaboard for my husband and I. So appreciated the excellent organization as well as the attentiveness and support of ALL the staff on board. And the extraordinary luxuries like post dive smoothies and warm facecloths! Food amazing-and plentiful. We especially liked the emphasis to respect and take care of the incredible marine environment we are so lucky to be able to enjoy. Gear and dive support/safety top notch. Thanks also for finding me all the cool nudibranchs Steve! (And the whale shark-I like the big things too!)

I had an absolutely brilliant time on the Similans trip. I've been out on DAQ twice now; first time just snorkelling, second time diving. The crew and dive staff are incredible, the trip felt really well organised and the team couldn't do enough to help.
